WITH WHICH COMPANY WILL THE ARTWORK BE SHIPPED?
This depends on the individual offers of the carriers when I book shipping and depends usually on size and destination. In every case it will be a reliable, well-known company, f.e. DHL Express, FedEx or UPS. They also take care of import formalities in the destination country.
HOW IS THE PROCESS AFTER THE PURCHASE?
After the purchase you will receive an email as confirmation. Depending on delivery address, price, size and medium of the work I start processing, e.g. packing, request the export declaration at German customs etc. This can take up to 6 working days. As soon as the painting is ready for pick-up and the shipping has been booked, you will receive information from me with which carrier the painting is send and its tracking ID, so that you can follow its journey.
TO WHICH COUNTRIES CAN PAINTINGS BE SEND?
My works can be sent to most countries in the world. I work with experienced service providers such as DHL Express, TNT and others who deliver to most countries in the world and also organize the customs handling (for which additional fees may be due).
IS MY NEW WORK "READY TO HANG"?
Depending on size paintings are sent stretched or rolled in a tube. Stretched paintings can be hung up directly after unpacking.
Rolled paintings need to be re-stretched after unpacking. This can be done by a professional framing studio that also has the corresponding stretcher bars available. In most cases restretching on-site is far more affordable than stretched shipping.
Works on paper are shipped rolled or in a cardboard box, depending on size and weight of the paper. They then can be framed individually.
Please note the individual information about "ready to hang" in each painting description or contact me before buying.
ARE THERE ADDITIONAL COSTS WHEN IMPORTING PAINTINGS INTO OTHER COUNTRIES?
Depending on the country to which the painting is imported, additional costs may apply. There are also countries where art can be imported entirely without import taxes or up to a certain amount without taxes. Please clarify yourself at your customs authority.
If import taxes has to be paid, the service provider responsible for transport organizes this in coordination with customs, so that you can make the payment quickly and easily. Then the delivery takes place.
ARE WORKS ON PAPER FRAMED?
With a few rare exceptions they aren't framed. Details on the framing can be found in the description of each painting.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE THE PAINTING TO BE SEND AND ARRIVE?
This depends on the size of the painting (the larger the longer the packaging lasts) and the price. From a certain value, the painting must be accompanied by appropriate customs documents, which I have to request at the German customs. As a rule, a large painting usually is ready for dispatch after 4-6 days. The transport itself usually takes another 2 to 3 days, but this can take longer if customs clearance in the importing country is necessary.
Smaller works that don't need customs documents or a customized packing, usually can be shipped about 2 - 3 working days after your order.
